Immingham area road works update

22 March 2016

Giant concrete bridge beams installed

In early March Highway England lifted 30 giant bridge beams into place over the A160 near Immingham. A 50 foot crane to lift the beams which each weighed up to 76 tonnes and were 28 metres longs used . Each beam took around 2 hours to lift into place which meant the A180 had to be temporarily closed for two weekends at Brocklesby interchange. Work can now start on building the bridge deck which will see the interchange become a roundabout. This will mean they are well on the way to improving access both to and from the A160 into Immingham.
